Niran Chawla, Ph.D., the Chairman of the Chawla Charity Foundation and the visionary Chief Executive Officer and President of GPCM Group Co., Ltd., was honored with a recognition award from the Foundation for the Mentally Retarded of Thailand. This took place during the ‘Certificate Presentation Ceremony’ on October 24, 2023, at the 7th floor of the Hatai Nares auditorium, the Foundation for the Mentally Retarded of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, Ratchathewi District, Bangkok.
Foundation for the Mentally Retarded of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, is a charitable organization. It was established in the year 1962 and received royal patronage from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother of Thailand. For over a century, the organization has been entrusted within the royal auspices and operates to serve individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families. It focuses on medical rehabilitation, education, vocational training, social integration, and various aspects of social welfare to develop the potential of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The goal is to enable them to be self-reliant, not burdensome to their families and society
The Chawla Charity Foundation is an organization that recognizes the importance of people with disabilities, providing support and coordinating with businesses to employ individuals with intellectual disabilities under Article 35. They work in various units within the foundation and the GPCM Group Co., Ltd. This creates a sense of pride and self-sufficiency for people with disabilities, allowing them to contribute to their families and society effectively.
To express their gratitude, the board of directors of the Foundation for the Mentally Retarded of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, invited Niran Chawla, Ph.D., to accept the honorary shield for the year 2023. This is a highly esteemed award, deeply valued, and serves to further inspire dedication to social work.
