The Jawala Charity Foundation was honored to participate in the special television program “Wan Ruam Jai Pracha: Metta Panya-On”, broadcast on the Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Channel 5 on Sunday, 12 July 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Foundation joined the program to convey its commitment to the spirit of giving and to raise public awareness of the importance of supporting people with intellectual disabilities by providing them with opportunities to develop their potential and improve their quality of life. The program also encouraged the public to take part in creating opportunities and promoting a better understanding of people with intellectual disabilities.
Prior to this, the Jawala Charity Foundation donated THB 100,000 to support the operations of the Foundation for the Mentally Retarded of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen. The donation was designated to support the development and skills training of people with intellectual disabilities in order to enhance their ability to live independently, strengthen their life skills, and improve their ability to participate in society with a better quality of life. Although the donation had already been made, being invited to participate in this special television program represents another source of pride for the Jawala Charity Foundation, reflecting its continued commitment to raising public awareness and supporting the improvement of the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities on a broader scale.
Supporting a Better Quality of Life for People with Intellectual Disabilities
The proceeds from the project are intended to support the development and skills training of people with intellectual disabilities, enabling them to achieve a better quality of life, become more self-reliant, and gain opportunities to demonstrate their full potential.
In addition to supporting education and skills development, the Jawala Charity Foundation places great importance on creating opportunities for learning through real-life experiences. The Foundation organizes activities with the children on a monthly basis to provide opportunities for experiential learning, build self-confidence, and strengthen essential life skills through a variety of activities. These include educational excursions, visits to zoological parks, and an upcoming experiential travel program in which the children will travel by train from Chiang Mai Province to Lampang Province, experience the local culture by riding a traditional horse carriage, and then return to Chiang Mai Province.
Another concrete demonstration of the Foundation’s commitment is creating employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. At present, the Foundation employs five people with intellectual disabilities, enabling them to earn a stable income, demonstrate their capabilities in the workplace, and build a sustainable future for themselves. This reflects the Foundation’s belief that everyone has value and can contribute meaningfully to society when given appropriate opportunities.
