On September 18, 2025, the Chawla Charity Foundation, represented by Dr. Niran Chawla, received a certificate of honor from The Foundation of the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand Under Royal Patronage. The certificate was presented by Dr. Saisom Wongsasulak, Chairperson of the Foundation, at Hathairatnaree Auditorium, 7th Floor, Foundation Office, Phetchaburi Road, Ratchathewi District, Bangkok. This honor was conferred to the organization in recognition of its efforts to create opportunities and empower individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The Foundation for the Mentally Disabled under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen was established in 1962 under the gracious support of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, who has served as the royal patron since its inception. At present, the Foundation operates 11 service units in total, consisting of six in central locations and five in regional areas, with three more units being established in Phitsanulok, Saraburi, and Pattani. Its core mission focuses on rehabilitation in education, vocational training, social skills development, and welfare services. These initiatives aim to ensure that individuals with intellectual disabilities can reach their full potential, achieve self-reliance, and live without being a burden to their families or society.
Chawla Charity Foundation recognizes the importance of social responsibility, particularly in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Such support not only helps them stand independently but also strengthens their confidence, fosters self-worth, and enables them to become an integral part of society.
