Bringing Smiles Through Learning Beyond the Classroom: A Special Trip to Chiang Mai Zoo for Children from the Northern Center for the Welfare of the Mentally Disabled, Chiang Mai

For a child, an “opportunity” can simply mean the chance to try something for the very first time, to step outside and see new things with their own eyes, or even to spend a day freely exploring beyond their usual daily routine.

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, the Jawala Foundation, in collaboration with the Northern Center for the Welfare of the Mentally Disabled in Chiang Mai—located at 413 Moo 4, Namphueng Village, Nong Phueng Subdistrict, Saraphi District—organized a special educational excursion for 40 children between the ages of 5 and 12.

The children were taken on a trip to Chiang Mai Zoo, giving them the opportunity to learn through direct experiences in the world of nature.

For many of the children, this may have been their very first time seeing a variety of animals up close. What they once saw only in textbooks suddenly came to life right before their eyes. Every pair of eyes sparkled with excitement, every question reflected curiosity, and every burst of laughter captured the joy they experienced throughout the day.

This activity was more than just a day trip. It was also an important part of supporting the children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth through real-life learning experiences. Such opportunities play a vital role for children with special needs by helping build confidence, improve communication skills, and encourage adaptation to new environments.

Throughout the day, the children learned about different animal species, practiced observation skills, listened to explanations from the activity team, and spent meaningful time together with their friends in a warm and supportive environment guided by dedicated caregivers.

In addition to the learning activities, lunch was provided to keep the children energized throughout the day. The meal included stir-fried soy sauce noodles with pork and egg, along with Hokkaido cream bread, brownies, fruit juice, and drinking water supported by B2 Hotel to ensure the children’s comfort during the trip.

Although the experience lasted for only one day, the smiles, happiness, and memories created may become small sources of inspiration that encourage these children to move forward with greater confidence in their journey of growth.

At B2 Hotel, we believe that being part of society means more than simply providing accommodation for travelers. It also means helping create opportunities and supporting better quality of life for people in many different ways.

Supporting this activity reflects our commitment to sharing happiness and creating meaningful memories for young people within the community.

Because we believe that even if we cannot change the whole world at once, a small opportunity given today might change someone’s world forever.
