Providing Happiness and Valuable Experiences: Field Trips Promote Learning Potential, Memories, and Overall Development, Helping Children Grow Up Happily. Chawla Charity Foundation Taking Children from Bandekbunthong Foundation in Chiang Mai Province on an Adventure Outside the Classroom to “Experience the Wonders of the Animal World” at Chiang Mai Zoo.

“On February 10th, 2567, Chawla Charity Foundation, led by Dr. Niran Chawla, the president of the foundation, along with volunteers, embarked on a journey to the Chiang Mai Zoo to meet with the children from the Bandekbunthong Foundation. As it coincided with the Chinese New Year, the children dressed in red and pink-themed attire to warmly welcome each other. Volunteers assumed the role of caretakers, leading the younger ones to explore the world of various species, both big and small, at the zoo. They also distributed snacks, such as crackers, for the children to enjoy throughout the day, and captured cheerful moments together in the lively atmosphere of the Chinese New Year theme, before continuing their adventure in search of different animal species.

As the adventure on the children’s faces began, smiles and laughter emerged, indicating excitement and joy as they eagerly anticipated meeting various new and unfamiliar animals they had never seen before. While visiting each station to observe different animals, some children rushed to see the tortoises, while others stood inquisitively watching giraffes, marveling at their height. Some joyfully exclaimed upon seeing hippos up close. The children asked numerous questions about the animals they encountered, and the caregivers and volunteer mentors from the Chawla Charity Foundation happily answered, explaining characteristics, behaviors, diets, and habitats of each species. They engaged in conversations, sharing knowledge and experiences throughout the journey.

After completing the morning adventure of exploring various adorable animals, we stopped for a break and had our meal together at the Sopon Damnoen building. Volunteers from the foundation generously distributed delicious and nutritious meals to the children and caregivers. Today, We prepared a menu of shrimp omelets with tasty vegetable soup and drinking water sponsored by the B2 Hotel Group. While enjoying the meal, we heard the children chatting and exchanging stories about the cute animals they had encountered in the morning. Everyone replenished their energy for the afternoon’s wildlife exploration. Volunteers then continued their role as mentors by distributing sandwiches and ham for the children to snack on during the remaining stations. Each child walked in an orderly manner, eagerly anticipating the next animal exhibit, and together, we proceeded excitedly.

In addition to providing the children with new experiences, this learning opportunity also served as a way to develop various skills. Activities such as teamwork and bonding with both peers and mentors from the Boonthong Children’s Home Foundation, aged approximately 5 – 12 years old, helped foster better understanding and mutual assistance among them. Moreover, everything from interpersonal interactions to external conduct provided valuable experiences and knowledge beyond the textbooks, which are considered precious gems for transforming their thoughts and lives positively with a bright future ahead.

Supporting through the Chawla Charity Foundation means contributing to promoting children’s learning experiences beyond the classroom, including field trips, acquiring knowledge, and experiencing adventures not found in textbooks. Beyond mere observation during travel, it also presents an opportunity to expand the boundaries of learning for the children.
