On October 24, 2024, Chawla Charity Foundation received a prestigious award from the Foundation for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand, under the Royal Patronage, at the main auditorium, 7th floor of the Social Welfare Council Building on New Petchaburi Road, Bangkok. Dr. Saisom Wongsasulak, President of the Foundation for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded, presented the award in recognition of Chawla Charity Foundation’s ongoing dedication to improving the quality of life for underprivileged individuals and its contributions to Thai society. The foundation has made impactful strides by supporting employment opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities, aligning with Section 35, and facilitating their employment within the foundation. Representing Chawla Charity Foundation at the award ceremony was Ms. Anchalee Duangruthai, who accepted this esteemed honor.
The Foundation for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand, under the Royal Patronage, is a charitable organization established in 1962 under the gracious support of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Its mission is to support persons with intellectual disabilities who lack access to education, vocational training, social welfare, and essential life skills development. The foundation operates nationwide, aiming to enhance the well-being and quality of life for the underprivileged across all provinces.
