Lunch Program at Baan Dek Dee Orphanage Chiang Mai

On 26th March 2016, Chawla Charity Foundation and volunteers have visited and hosted a lunch meal for children at Baan Dek Dee Orphanage, San Sai, Chiang Mai.

We headed to the orphanage with lots of delicious food and dessert including Stir-fired Squid with Salted Egg, Stir- fired Pork Balls with Green Curry and Thai desserts; Pumpkin in Sweet Coconut Milk and Coconut Juice Jelly for them. When we arrived at Baan Dek Dee, Mr. Manop and his volunteer staff gave us a warm welcome. They were very glad that we came to visit the kids. This private orphanage consisted of a small house with around 30 children aged between 8-12 years old living together. The kids here were cheerful and lovely, thanks to Baan Dek Dee’s kind and considerate care.

When the food was ready to serve, the kids quickly got in line in an orderly way and one by one took a plate of rice with food before having their meal at the table. They seemed to really enjoy the food we brought as they repeatedly came back for more rice. Not so long, they finished the meal and had some dessert. Some kids instantly finished their meal so to play with friends, when some were stuffed but still wanted to eat more. It’s a wonderful feeling to see the little people enjoyed the food and the smiles on their face, our hearts filled up like a balloon that’s about to burst.

Chawla Charity Foundation and volunteers are really happy that we have visited this heart-warming place. We will continue our support in any way that we can to help the children to grow up healthy, educated and prepared to succeed and contribute to society.
