Spreading Warmth and Hope “Chawla Charity” Bolsters Youth Prospects through Bedding Donation at Kathu District, Phuket

In the journey of growth, “opportunity” does not always manifest as a scholarship; often, it arrives in the form of an environment conducive to a happy and healthy life. On April 25, 2026, in Kathu District, Phuket, the Chawla Charity Foundation launched a community initiative by donating over 2,000 pieces of bedding and linens in excellent condition  to the Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation (Baan Dek Tawan Chay). This contribution aims to enhance well-being and provide a sense of comfort and security for the youth under the foundation’s care.

Phuket Sunshine Village was established to provide shelter and “family-style” care for underprivileged children and orphans in Phuket following the 2004 tsunami. Today, this small village consists of a main building and six semi-detached houses, accommodating up to 100 children in need of support or those affected by past tragedies. Every child resides in a foster-family environment centered on trust and meaningful relationships – a foundation designed to heal past traumas and build a new life. The support provided by the Chawla Charity Foundation addresses essential daily needs, comprising Bedding Essentials: 328 bedsheets (King and Twin sizes), 337 duvet covers, and 505 pillowcases. Hygiene Linens: 354 bath towels, 353 hand towels, and 204 floor mats. These items represent more than mere household supplies; they are vital tools for maintaining overall health and hygiene, serving as a guarantee for a brighter future.

The Chawla Charity Foundation remains steadfast in its belief that “a high quality of life is the bedrock of education.” Reducing social inequality begins with sharing the resources close to us.
