When the Stars Feel Closer—and So Does Happiness

For many children, the night sky is something they simply pass by without a second thought. For the girls from the orphan home supported by Chawla Charity Foundation, that evening became a memory that will last a lifetime.

The Foundation brought the girls to the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT)—a place where science meets imagination, and where curiosity about the universe is encouraged without limits. For many of them, it was their first opportunity to learn about astronomy, planets, and galaxies far beyond what they had ever known.

As the lights slowly dimmed and the stars began to appear, excitement filled the room.

Questions flowed—about planets, distance, and how light can travel for millions of years just to reach Earth.

The most magical moment came when each girl had the chance to look through a telescope. They saw the surface of the moon up close and traced distant stars that once felt unreachable. In that moment, the universe no longer felt vast and intimidating—it felt inspiring. The sky was no longer something far above them; it became something they could understand and explore.

After a journey through the stars, a simple but joyful dinner awaited. The girls gathered together to enjoy a special KFC dinner, sharing laughter, stories, and smiles around the table. For many, it was more than just a meal—it was a moment of warmth, care, and belonging.
