One morning, as the gentle breeze of the rainy season drifted through the fields, warm sunlight poured over the emerald-green rice paddies surrounding Ban Nong Khong School in San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai. This small school, a second home to hundreds of children, felt different that day—it was more magical than any other. A precious gift had arrived: a “magical computer” ready to open the door to a boundless world of knowledge, and a set of “brightly colored balls and sports equipment” to transform the schoolyard into a playground filled with laughter, friendship, and joy.
All of this was made possible through the kindness and generosity of the Chawla Charity Foundation, whose mission is to bring opportunities and inspiration—so that the little dreams of children may bloom and flourish beautifully.
Ban Nong Khong School, located in San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai, is a place of wonder for children from kindergarten to Grade 9. With 608 students and 24 devoted teachers, the school is more than just classrooms; it is a nurturing space where knowledge is planted, and small dreams are lovingly carried forward. Despite having limited resources, the children make the most of every day—learning, growing, and exploring the vast world of opportunities and happiness waiting to be discovered.

And then came the long-awaited day—September 12, 2025. Dr. Niran Chawla, together with the devoted team from the Chawla Charity Foundation, journeyed to Ban Nong Khong School to present gifts of learning and play. That day, they brought with them seven complete computer sets and six kinds of sports equipment: volleyballs, footballs, chair-ball sets, a volleyball net, a chair-ball basket, and an air pump. These gifts were more than simple objects; they were “keys” to unlock new worlds of knowledge and play, empowering children to step into wider horizons of growth and discovery.

The scene was enchanting: children dressed in their vibrant traditional outfits—colorful skirts and local blouses—smiled brightly, flashing peace signs as they held their brand-new sports gear. Some worked together to lift a large basket overflowing with balls in every shade; though a little heavy, their sparkling eyes radiated pure happiness. Even those whose smiles were hidden beneath masks could not hide the excitement shining through their eyes. The air was filled with laughter, cheerful voices, and a lively energy that made it impossible for anyone present not to smile along.

From another corner, the sight was just as heartwarming: hundreds of children in golden traditional attire sat neatly together on the ground, surrounded by their teachers and the foundation’s team, all sharing smiles that spoke louder than words. Some children raised peace signs, while others giggled with joy. The atmosphere was one of hope, dreams, and encouragement—gently passed down from caring adults to the young hearts ready to embrace them.

Over the years, the Chawla Charity Foundation has remained steadfast in its mission to create smiles, open doors of opportunity, and share happiness with children and communities in many places. Whether through providing learning equipment, supporting sports, or organizing activities to inspire young minds, every step has been like planting seeds of hope in the hearts of children—seeds that will one day grow into the vital strength of society.
That day at Ban Nong Khong School was not just a day of giving. It was a true “Day of Dreams and Smiles” that the children will carry in their memories for years to come. And for the Chawla Charity Foundation, it became a renewed source of inspiration—to keep moving forward, to keep sharing warmth and hope with many more children. For in every smile returned lies the clearest proof that love and generosity truly have the power to change lives.
