Because we believe that giving does not have to be big, but rather it depends on the intention and the heart that wants to see change. Chawla Charity Foundation traveled to the Chiang Mai Girls’ Shelter, bringing with it a box of “opportunities” including a computer and a complete set of equipment that will become a door to the wide world of learning, a soft doll that does not say anything but conveys deep love and care, and a special fried chicken lunch that we have prepared to fill both the stomach and the heart of the children at the same time. We believe that these small things, when combined, will become an important force that helps nourish the mind, spark inspiration, and make them feel that they are not alone in their life’s path. No matter what their background is, everyone should have the right to learn and grow forward with hope that is not extinguished by life’s limitations.
Chiang Mai Girls’ Shelter is located at 163/9 Moo 6, Ban San Um, Tambon Choeng Doi, Amphoe Doi Saket, Chiang Mai Province. It is a small house that supports 19 vulnerable girls, aged between 5 and 17 years, to have a safe shelter, a cared for life, and the opportunity to grow up in a valuable way, amidst an environment full of love, care, and never-ending hope.
On June 28, 2025, the team from the Chawla Charity Foundation arrived at the Chiang Mai Girls’ Shelter with 3 sets of computers, soft toys, and a delicious fried chicken lunch as special gifts. As soon as we stepped through the door, the first thing we saw was not just smiles, but tears of gratitude. The children ran out to greet us with excitement. Some hugged us with joy, while others waved nonstop. The event started with a cute dance performance by the children to warmly and friendlyly welcome the older brothers and sisters from the Chawla Foundation. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and fun. At the same time, the children received a computer with a complete set of equipment, which will truly open the door to knowledge and develop their technological skills.

During the soft toy giving, one child smiled and excitedly said, “I want a shark!” causing everyone to laugh warmly. Each child had fun naming their own soft toy, making this small gift become a playmate and a heartwarming symbol of love at the same time. During this touching moment, many children also brought lovely cards and letters with drawings and thank you messages to Dr. Niran Chawla and the Chawla Charity Foundation team as a heartfelt gift, filled with love and gratitude.

Afterwards, the Chawla Charity Foundation served delicious fried chicken with refreshing drinks for the children to enjoy. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, conversation, and happy smiles in every corner. The children enjoyed their meal while the upbeat music played in the background. Some of them got up to dance, some swayed to the rhythm happily before sitting down to continue eating with smiles. Some of them even teased each other a little naturally. Their eyes were full of mischief, reflecting the simple happiness that children should receive.

Before we left, the kids gave us their final performance as a farewell with words of thanks from the heart and a warm goodbye hug. It was a simple but meaningful moment that no one wanted to end. The team also took photos with the kids to record these happy moments as priceless memories that will remind us of the smiles, laughter, and pure energy from the hearts of the kids that we had the chance to experience that day.

What Chawla Charity Foundation is doing today is not just donating things, but spreading hope, creating learning opportunities and filling little hearts with joy. A new computer is not just a tool, but a window to the world where children can develop their skills and discover their potential. A soft toy is a heartwarming companion. A special meal is not just a full stomach, but a time filled with laughter and happiness. Seeing the smiles and bright eyes of the children is a priceless reward that proves that every sharing is meaningful and can always make a big difference.
