Every piece of cloth is a symbol of care that does not need words. Chawla Charity Foundation traveled to Ban Kut Chum School in Ubon Ratchathani to deliver warmth through blankets, bed sheets, and curtains to the children and educational personnel to feel warm both physically and mentally at all times.

In the rainy season when the water is flowing fast, warmth may not be just hiding under the roof, but it is having someone to pass on their concern. Even just a “small blanket” can become a great encouragement for a child who is facing the cold, not just because of the cold weather, but also because of loneliness, hardship, and instability in life. Chawla Charity Foundation believes that small acts of giving with intention can always create a big change in someone’s heart.

With this belief, we traveled to Ban Kut Chum School in Ubon Ratchathani to deliver blankets, bed sheets, and curtains that not only warm the body but also embrace the hearts of the children and selfless teachers who are fighting the floods every year in remote areas, so that they know that they are not alone and that there is always someone who is ready to be by their side.

Ban Kut Chum School is located opposite Khu Duea Beach in Ubon Ratchathani. Located in an area that is regularly affected by flooding every year due to its location next to the Mun River, the surrounding community is also faced with the problem of flooding every year. It is a small school with only 18 students, teaching from grades 1 to 6, and has only 5 staff members: 1 school director, 1 full-time teacher who has been working for only 4 months, 1 volunteer teacher who comes to teach without receiving compensation, 1 administrative officer, and 1 janitor. But everyone devotes their physical and mental strength to ensure that the children’s education does not stop, even though they have to fight the overflowing water and the severe lack of resources. The determination and sacrifice of everyone has become an important force that helps Ban Kut Chum School remain a shelter of knowledge and warmth for the children in this community.

On May 30, 2025, the Chawla Charity Foundation team traveled to Ban Kut Chum School with smiles and concern. We delivered necessary items that may seem ordinary. But the meaning is enormous 41 large blankets, 23 small blankets, 212 large bed sheets, and 26 curtains. These items not only help relieve the physical cold at night, but also help improve the quality of life every day, whether it is having a clean and safe place to sleep, curtains that block the sunlight, or even blankets that children can use both at home and at school. It is another small step full of hope for this small community.

The result today is not only a more comfortable classroom, but the hearts of the children are warmer and the hearts of all teachers who are more encouraged to do their jobs. We have seen the gratitude in the eyes of the teachers who give love to every student as if they were their own children. And we have experienced the strong hearts of the community that still rises up to fight even though they have fallen from many disasters.

What we do today may not be able to stop natural disasters or change the structure of the world immediately, but it is the beginning of creating a new world with more compassion. It is the passing of hope through cloth, through smiles, through the sparkling eyes of children who feel that they are important. For all of us who live in a safe space, let’s stop and think for a moment that Our small contributions can be a great power to someone.

Chawla Charity Foundation continues its mission to deliver warmth and support to children and educators in remote and difficult areas because we believe that small changes made through sincere intentions can create momentum to make our society and world a better and warmer place.
