Every day, many stray dogs face hardships from harsh weather conditions, food shortages, and the uncertainty of street life. But at “Kru Kai Shelter for Injured and Disabled Dogs” in Chiang Mai Province, this place has become a warm temporary home for over a hundred homeless dogs. “Kru Kai” is the heart of caring for these animals with endless love and sacrifice.
With the intention of being a part in sending warmth to these little friends of the world, Chawla Charity Foundation has donated a large number of clean cloths to be used as bedding and blankets for the dogs, helping to improve their quality of life and reduce the risk of diseases caused by humidity. Because we know that “even just a piece of cloth can make a difference to a life.” This is another mission from the heart that we intend to give hope and new opportunities to every life that is still waiting for someone to see it.
Kru Kai Shelter for Injured and Disabled Dogs is located at 131 Moo 8, Luang Nuea Subdistrict, Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province. It was founded by Kru Kai, a former teacher who devoted her life to taking care of 524 injured and disabled stray dogs and 35 stray cats, totaling 559 lives, without any budget support from any organization. This place is full of animals that have gone through painful stories, such as being abused, abandoned, or having accidents that prevent them from living normally. Kru Kai has taken care of them with an unflagging heart for many years.
On April 25, 2025, the team from the Chawla Foundation, led by Mr. Witthayu Chomngam, Ms. Kanthana Kongsaengchu, Ms. Thiranyada Thanapaisan, Ms. Nanchanok Chaikul, Ms. Kunnipa Wanthien, Ms. Mukphisut Srirattanasuwan, Ms. Chanettiporn Kaewpeng, Ms. Rattikarn Tankaew, Ms. Khanitha Phumchai, and Mr. Peeranat Plooksuk, delivered 34 large duvet covers, 118 small duvet covers, 33 large bed sheets, 120 small bed sheets, 205 bath towels, 203 hand towels, 124 foot towels, 68 large mattress protectors, and 163 small mattress protectors. These items Although it may seem simple to the eyes of ordinary people, for the dogs here, it is a blanket of comfort, a towel of warmth, and a bed sheet that helps them sleep well again.

Because we believe that a small act of kindness today can change a life for the better forever. Every piece of cloth that the Chawla Foundation delivers may seem simple, but it is a symbol of concern that embraces the hearts of stray animals and makes them warm again. Whether it is a clean sheet that helps them sleep comfortably, a blanket that relieves the cold, and every act of giving is a bridge of kindness that connects the hearts of people and animals. Even though our sharing is small, when combined with everyone’s kindness, it turns this shelter into a safe home filled with love. The bright eyes of the dogs, the barking greeting, and the smile of Teacher Kai all confirm that even a small act of giving can truly make this world more beautiful.
The Chawla Charity Foundation will continue to carry on this mission of love and sharing so that small hearts have the opportunity to live a safe and warm life because a true home… is a place filled with love and no one is left behind.
