Chawla Charity Foundation Empowers Children with Disabilities: Donates Educational Toys and Organizes Lunch at Northern Welfare Center, Chiang Mai

On the bright morning of January 27, 2023, the Chawla Charity Foundation, led by Dr. Niran Chawla, the president of the foundation, went to The Northern Welfare Center For The Mentally Retarded, 413 Moo 4, Nam Phung Village, Nong Phueng Subdistrict, Saraphi District, Chiang Mai Province, to organize a delicious lunch and snacks, and to donate educational toys to the children, a total of 31 people. The toys donated this time were a set of toys that train skills and muscles, such as coloring books, language posters, and developmental building blocks.

The Northern Welfare Center For The Mentally Retarded in Chiang Mai was established to help intellectually disabled children, both physically and mentally, as well as education, to give them the opportunity to live a happy life. It covers welfare, family, self-help, and vocational training, using therapy methods in conjunction with rehabilitation to gain knowledge and skills to the fullest potential.

In addition, it also surveys, studies, researches, and investigates intellectual disabilities for the benefit of education and medicine. It is a model organization for local areas that do not have a shelter for intellectually disabled people. It has coordinated with government agencies, other charitable organizations in Thailand and abroad. It focuses on disseminating knowledge to the community, following the royal directives of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, to strengthen the power in caring and promoting the development of children in the community, disseminate knowledge, prevent and care for intellectually disabled people throughout the north.

The donation of toys to the children this time is not only a support for their skills and muscles, but also a promotion of learning in various aspects, developing creativity and imagination that may be beneficial for their future. Moreover, the staff from the Chawla Charity Foundation could feel the excitement and joy that was revealed from the smiles on the children’s faces, which were full of happiness, as if they had found their favorite new toy again. But the children’s joy did not end there. In addition to the toy donation, the Chawla Charity Foundation also provided lunch for the children with a menu of shrimp fried rice and Tom Yum Goong, as well as delicious snacks that can be eaten together to fill the stomach all day long, such as donuts and milk. Everyone ate in an orderly manner with relish, feeling satisfied.

Throughout the day, we did fun activities together. The smiles of the children were like a ray of sunshine that shone into our hearts. It was a brightness and purity that everyone who saw it was filled with joy. This activity is another activity that the Chawla Charity Foundation is committed to and intends to come to give encouragement and help children. To give them the opportunity to learn and grow with quality. It’s another good day where both the giver and the receiver are happy and enjoy filling each other’s hearts.

Become one of the forces in helping these children grow and succeed in life. By donating money or contributing to education with the Chawla Charity Foundation to organize special events for children in the future.
